Mobile Social Networking
Presently I have a Jaiku, Twitter, Facebook and Bebo account, out of the 4
the most used (daily) is Jaiku. The Jaiku Mobile application is starting to be
my most used app on the N95 8GB, I have it constantly on connecting for updates
every so often.
When the Jaiku servers had a little problem the other day I started to look at my other accounts in Twitter, Facebook and Bebo. To be honest I can’t understand Twitter and Facebook it just doesn’t do it for me. If a friend posts a message or I want to respond to an old message I’d like to just reply to that message like Jaiku rather than posting to my own “What are you doing?” or “Status Updates”. As for Bebo, I only registered with this cos my Sis-In-Law uses it constantly, I don’t its pants, noticed the mobile page now says “Stay tuned for Bebo Mobile coming soon to your mobile provider”, so will need to see what they come up with.
What is Jaiku?
Jaiku is a social networking, micro-blogging and lifestreaming service.
Jaiku is similar to Twitter, but with Jaiku you can add your own feeds into it, from the likes of flickr, last.fm or your own blog (If its got a RSS feed you can probably add it).
You can access Jaiku from a number of sources like the PC using http://www.jaiku.com or
http://m.jaiku.com or
Google Gadget. From your
phone using the internet browser using http://www.jaiku.com or
http://m.jaiku.com
OR the S60 application on Nokia handsets (With the S60 application you can also
see other contacts presence settings). You can also get updates via text or IM. Honest Jaiku is great for keeping in touch and just general chat with people.
Jaiku is by invite only at the moment since Google bought them over, I've given all my Jaiku invites out, so I'll see if I can get some more.

Like you, I don't 'get' Twitter, and Facebook is too full of noise for my liking. Jaiku rocks!
